Closing details

Over  time I have learned something  about Dawn Richard, and that is she never does anything random, or something as a mere coincidence. I am simply amazed at how this was so put together, and how well it references the account of David and Goliath. The title and the whole song is the reference to this account as well, but I would have not made that connection without knowing the story of David and Goliath from my younger years.

 

  In closing I am very impressed that this song was so much an allusion that it did not cross my mind that it was until like yesterday. I guess that is the wonder of allusions after all, they can right in front of you without knowing it. Knowing this information about the song “Goliath” makes me believe that Ms. Dawn Richard has some deep knowledge of the text, and the skills to write that knowledge in way to allude to that story. I am now interested to find out if they are more allusions in this album, and in anything else that I come into contact with.
